St Mary's Notices - 23rd April 2023

This week there will be a service of Morning Worship at 10am and Holy Communion at 6pm. This week we continue to explore how lives were impacted by Jesus’ resurrection and how it can change our lives now. At the 10am service there will be a children’s group running and at both the 10am and 6pm services an advocate update from Christian Aid will be given. Ian and Helena are leading the 10am service, and Ruth Brooker from Emmanuel will be presiding at 6pm. Please welcome and support them all.

Monday Morning Men’s Meeting – Monday 17th April at 10:15am

17 Apr 2023

Our next meeting on the 17th of April will be held at Emmanuel Church (not at St Mary’s as shown in our programme). This will be an illustrated talk about ‘Cross-Country Skiing’, an activity in which he became involved while working in Finland. We start with coffee from 10:15am and all men are welcome.

St Mary's Notices - 16th April 2023

Please join us for our services of Holy Communion at 10am and Evening Worship at 6pm this Sunday. At the 10am service we will continue the Easter story thinking about Thomas’ meeting with Jesus. There will be a children’s group running during the 10am service with some activities planned in the woodland (weather permitting) so please bring suitable clothes! We look forward to seeing you.

St Mary's Notices - 2nd April and 9th April 2023

We hope you can join us for our Easter Sunday Services. Easter Sunrise will take place at at 6:15am when we will gather around the fire pit for a short, reflective first service of Easter. There will be hot drinks and croissants afterwards. All-Age Communion will be at 10am. Please invite family and friends to join us for our Easter All Age Celebration with an egg hunt afterwards around the woods! Songs of Praise will take place at 6pm. This is an opportunity to celebrate the good news of Easter and worship God in songs and readings.

Ladies Group – Tuesday 4th April at 10:30am

The next meeting of St Mary’s Ladies Group will take place on Tuesday, 4th April at 10:30am in the Chapter House. The theme of the meeting will be ‘Easter’. We will continue to make donations to the ‘Food Bank’, which are always gratefully received.

Table Talk – Wednesday 29th March at 12pm

29 Mar 2023

The two previous groups called Ladies who Lunch and Table Talk, have amalgamated to make one group. The new lunch group has kept the name “Table Talk.” Previously for ladies and gents who lived alone, the group now warmly invites anyone who would welcome some company whether they live alone or not. It is a lovely opportunity to meet together to share lunch and chat. The meetings take place on the last Wednesday of each month at the Toby Carvery, Forest Road at 12 noon. Starting Rite - New course starting Wednesday 26th April

Please spread the word about the new Starting Rite course! It is a five session (across 4 weeks) multi-sensory course for mums and babies 0 - 12 months at St Mary in Charnwood. It offers a chance to meet other new mums and spend time with your baby, splashing, peekabooing, blowing bubbles, singing and reading stories, all in a small group. The course is free but booking is essential. Our next course begins on Wednesday 26th April 10.00am - 11.30am. Please ask those you know if they would like to join! Please join us this Sunday for Morning Worship at 10am and Holy Communion at 6pm. David Newman will be preaching at both services this week and we will also be hearing an update from The Bridge.

Mossy Church – Saturday 25th March at 3pm

25 Mar 2023

This week we will be learning about forgiveness through planting wildflower seeds and drawing faces
on trees. At the end we will enjoy hot chocolate and marshmallows. We hope to see you there!
