Sunday October 18th Morning Communion with Bishop Martyn at 10am [NO SERVICE AT 6PM]
This week Bishop Martyn will be leading our worship at 10am and preaching as part of our new sermon series ‘Called: Your Part in God’s Story’. The readings are 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10 and Luke 10:1-9. Please join us if you are able, to worship together and to hear something of Bishop Martyn’s story. Because of the Bishop’s visit, as well as Rev Jenny’s licensing service at 7.30pm, we have cancelled our 6pm service and invite everyone to join us for a combined service at 10am. As most of our children and young people are away with their families enjoying the October Half Term, there will not be a children's group this week but we do have fidgets, drawing tablets and an activity sheet at the back of church.

Sunday October 18th Licensing Service for Rev Jenny Ridge at 7.30pm at St Botolph’s Shepshed
Please join us if you are able as we celebrate the appointment of Rev Jenny Ridge as vicar at St Botolph’s and St James, and as Oversight Minister for the Beacon in the Forest Minster Community of which we are part of. The service will be led by Bishop Martyn and will be followed by refreshments. If you need a lift, or help with organising a car share, please speak to Adele.

Sunday October 25th Morning Worship with Advocate at 10am
In our Morning Worship service we will be studying 1 Thessalonians 2:1-8 and Matthew 22:34-46 investigating the theme of Called to Love. Our advocate today will be talking about the charity ARocha.

Sunday October 25th Worship With a Classical Flavour – Sunday 25th October at 6pm
We are delighted to welcome back good friends of St Mary’s, the JET trio, for the last Worship with a Classical Flavour of the Year. Join us for a short service of Evening Worship, followed by refreshments and a wonderful half hour concert of music.

All Together Worship at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm
This week we begin a 4 week sermon series ‘Called: Your Part in God’s Story’. Beginning with the theme ‘Called to Serve’ we will be thinking about the many ways people serve in God’s Kingdom both at St Mary’s and out in the community. We will also be authorising Ian as a ‘Locally Authorised Minister’ and hearing his story of being called by God. The readings are Isaiah 6:1-8 and Matthew 9:35-38.

Harvest in the Barn – Sunday 4th October, 10am at Home Farm
Bring your family for a service in the barn, followed by an autumnal walk through the walled garden to St Mary's for refreshments! Parking is available at Home Farm (Woodhouse Lane, LE11 3YG) and do remember to bring a chair and a warm blanket! A collection will be taken for the Tearfund Harvest Appeal and donations of non-perishable food items are most welcome, these will be taken and donated to Project 5000. Harvest Communion – Sunday 4th October at 6pm
Everyone is welcome to join our traditional Harvest Celebration with Communion. There will be extra hymns as part of our praise and worship, so we hope everyone will be in good voice! Donations of non-perishable food items are welcome for Project 5000 and money can be given to Tearfund, either in cash, with the card reader in church or using the link in the notice below.

All Together Agape at 10am and Evensong at 6pm
This week we will be concluding our series on the book of Revelation, and that brings us also to the end of our year’s tour through the Bible! Please join us for worship as we celebrate the gift of God’s word, and consider the biblical images of the Tree of Life and Living Water. There will be an advocate slot on behalf of STEPS at both services.

Morning Communion at 10am
Everyone is welcome to our morning communion service as we continue our journey through the book of Revelation, this week reaching chapter 21 and the good news of ‘All things made new’! There will be a children’s group during the service and the usual opportunity afterwards to catch up with one another, share refreshments and ask for prayer.

Evening Worship at 6pm
This week in our short dash through Revelation, we look at the day when Jesus will come again, wrap up this broken world, and make a new one, the way it was supposed to be, before we messed it up. When He will wipe away all tears from every eye. When God will live among us, not as His invisible Spirit, as now, but open to our eyes.

Morning Worship at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm
Everyone is very welcome to our service of morning worship; there will be a group for children during the service. As we continue our journey through Revelation, our theme is ‘The Earth Cries Out’. We hear of God’s judgement on the earth and lament the brokenness of our world, trusting in God’s loving purposes to heal and renew. Later on, we look forward to welcoming you for communion in the evening.

Join us at 10am for our Children and Young People Led Agape on 'The Throne at the Centre' as we explore what the book of Revelation reveals about creation in the season of Creationtide. We'll be exploring the rich visual imagery in Revelation 4 and would love for you to come along and appreciate our children and young people's artistic and musical talents.

Everyone is welcome to our traditional Evensong service, this week considering the worship around God’s throne, described in Revelation chapters 4 and 5.

Summer Sunday Morning Communion at 11am
This Sunday we reach the end of our Summer series on the Short Letters, this week looking at the letter of 2 Peter with the theme Don’t Forget! So, what it is that we are encouraged to remember? Come along to find out and to join us as we worship God together. There will be a children’s group during the service and afterwards please stay on to enjoy some time together……

Summer Sunday Social – Sunday 23rd August after the 11am service
We hope you have all been having a fabulous summer and, odd as it is to say, isn’t it good to have had some rain! This Sunday marks the end of our 11am summer services and we are finishing with a BBQ social at church after our service. It is important for us to have an idea of numbers so that we know how much food to provide, and also whether there are any dietary requirements (i.e. vegetarian) It would be great if you could bring a dessert or a side dish to complement our sausages, burgers and rolls!

Summer Sunday Morning Worship with Advocate at 11am
Continuing our series on Short Letters, this week we are considering Paul’s letter to Titus and his message of Good Lives, Good News. There is no separate children’s group, so they are very welcome in the service as we worship together. We will be hearing an update on HoverAid, for which there are prayer pointers at the end of the notices.

Worship with a Classical Flavour – Sunday 16th August at 6pm
Join us at our WWCF in August for a home-grown ‘Music for a Summer’s Evening’. There will be a Celtic service of Evening Prayer in which Adele will share some thoughts from sabbatical, followed by refreshments and a short concert featuring our own musicians, including some of our young people. Please come along to support them and enjoy time together.

Summer Sunday Communion at 11am
This Sunday, we look at Philemon, a little letter we often miss, tucked in near the end of the New Testament. In it, Paul gets personal, looking at forgiveness, and the practical working out of the commandment to “Love one another”.
The readings are Philemon 1: 4-18 (There is only one chapter and 25 verses – knock yourself out and read it all!) and Luke 15:11-32.

Summer Sunday Agape at 11am
Jude told Christian folk to 'watch out!' in his letter - but watch out for what? We'll be finding out in this month's All Age Agape. Our readings are taken from Jude 1:1-4; 17-25 and Matthew 24:3-14.

Remember that our services are at 11 am. Hazel has kindly organised activity packs for the children and young people- but don’t let having a few more years of experience stop you investigating them if you are young at heart!
