Morning Communion at 10am
This week we begin a three week series thinking about our church vision and what God is calling us to. We make a start by thinking about the part we each have to play, however small, in seeing God’s kingdom come in our church and community. There will be a children’s group during the service and some treats to celebrate Fathers’ Day at coffee time (dads first!)

Worship with a Classical Flavour at 6pm
Please invite friends and family to join us for a short service at 6pm followed by refreshments after which there is a half hour concert of music to enjoy, ending around 7.45pm.
At this month’s Worship with a Classical Flavour we have a performance from classical guitarist Sam Rodwell. Sam has a rich musical background performing solo, with small ensembles and with orchestras covering repertoire from the renaissance to the 21st century; we look forward to welcoming him to St Mary’s.

All Together Worship at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm
We hope that you'll join us on Sunday at 10am, after our Pentecost Breakfast, to celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. In our Intergenerational Service we'll be learning together about just how special the Day of Pentecost was and how incredible it is that we have the Holy Spirit as our Helper, Advocate and Counsellor today.

In the evening we will celebrate a traditional Communion Service for the Feast of Pentecost with the option of anointing with oil as a sign of personal renewal in the power of the Spirit, and the lighting of candles from the Easter candle, marking the end of Easter-tide.

Sunday 25th May
Morning Worship at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm
This Sunday morning, we are delighted to have a baptism during our 10am service. We will be looking at the baptism of Lydia and her household in Acts 16:9-15. We will also welcome The Bridge in our Advocate Slot.

At our evening Communion Service we will be asking the question Where is God at work and are we there, too? Looking at our passages from Acts 16:9-15 and John 5:1-9.

Sunday 1st June
All Together Agape at 10am and Evensong at 6pm
Next Sunday we will be turning our attention to the Ascension of Jesus! In the morning, we have our All Age Agapé service and in the evening we have Evensong. Readings are Acts 1:1-11 and John 17:20-26.

Morning Communion at 10am
In the morning communion service this week we will be looking at Acts 11:1-18 and John 13:31-35, with a particular focus on the Acts passage, and how God works to change minds, attitudes and behaviours for the sake of reaching people with the gospel. Worship with a Classical Flavour at 6pm
This month our Worship with a Classical Flavour service will feature the Capriccio Trio - Clare Pitchford on violin, Anthony Calverley on cello and Jeremy Kimber on piano. They will be performing Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No 1 in D minor, plus two reflective items in the service. Please invite friends and family to join us for a short service at 6pm followed by refreshments after which there is a half hour concert of music to enjoy, ending around 7.45pm.

All Together Worship at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm
This Sunday at 10am, we'll be exploring the story of Dorcas, a very appropriate start to Christian Aid Week and it's also Vocations Sunday! We will be spending some time crafting together whilst we discuss acts of service over a cuppa - there will be simple stitching and crochet projects and loom bands, as well as a bible study table for those who like the chatting but not the crafting. There will also be quiet tables in Church because we know the Chapter House can get noisy when we're all chatting. Please feel free to bring your own projects in progress and perhaps something handmade that's special to you to show others?

At our 6pm communion service we will be focussing on the gospel reading, thinking about the peace that comes from trusting that we are safe in our Father’s hands. Readings are Acts 9:36-43 and John 10:22-30

All Together Agape at 10am and Evensong at 6pm
This week we will be exploring two stories of transformation as people encounter the risen Jesus and see things from a new perspective. The readings are Acts 9:1-20 and John 21:1-19

Sunrise in the Woods at 6am
Join us at 6am for sunrise around the fire pit, for a short, reflective first service of Easter. The service lasts around half an hour and there will be hot drinks and pastries afterwards.

Easter Sunday All-Together Communion at 10am
We will celebrate the risen Christ in all His glory with joyful hymns, thankful prayer and grateful communion. After the service the young at heart can head over to the woodland to see if they can spot anything edible and egg shaped among the trees!

Easter Sunday Songs of Praise, and Worship with a Classical Flavour at 6pm
Our usual Worship with a Classical Flavour service will have a Songs of Praise theme, enhanced by well-known Easter hymns and performances by our wonderful Homegrown Choir and other members of St Mary’s. As usual, there will be refreshments after the service followed by a half-hour concert. Please invite family and friends.

Palm Sunday All-Together Worship at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm, Sunday April 13th
On Palm Sunday, at 10am, our All-Together Worship will include a procession through our woodland to help us connect with the joy of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey. We'll also have our dressing up box out for the young (and young at heart)!
At 6pm we celebrate Palm Sunday with a reading of both the Palm gospel and the Passion narrative from Mark's gospel.

Morning Worship at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm
God is a God of second chances and abundant patience. How will we respond to his generosity? In this Sunday's services, we will be thinking about what it means to respond rightly and the challenge Jesus poses to self-righteousness as we explore Luke 13:1-9 and Psalm 63:1-9. There will be an advocate presentation for The Laura Centre during both services.

All-Together Worship at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm

For the first Sunday of Lent, our intergenerational morning service will be about Jesus being tempted in the
wilderness, as told in Luke 4:1-13. We'll discuss wilderness and fasting and explore what the three temptations tell us about Jesus and how they are relevant to us today, with optional activities to engage with.

In the evening, we will also be exploring the theme of Temptation. The readings are Psalm 91 and Luke 4:1-13
