St Mary's Notices - Sunday 7th June 2026
All Together Agape at 10am
Our journey through Acts takes us to the story of a special meeting and asks us whether we are Philip… or the Ethiopian when it comes to our faith.
Evensong at 6pm
Join us this Sunday evening for Evensong. We continue to look at Acts, focusing on the story of Phillip and the Ethiopian. The Readings are Acts 8:26-40 and John 15:1-8.

Morning Communion at 10am and Evening Worship at 6pm
Join us on Sunday when Rev Bob Edge will be joining us to preach and preside at our 10 am Communion service and preach at our 6 pm service. We're continuing our Acts series, trying to keep up with the Holy Spirit (!) with the topic Courageous Church.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 24th May 2026
Morning Worship with Advocate at 10am and Evening Communion with Advocate at 6pm
We hope that you'll join us on Sunday at 10am, to celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. In our morning worship service, we'll be learning together about just how special the Day of Pentecost was and how incredible it is that we have the Holy Spirit as our Helper, Advocate and Counsellor today.
In the evening we will celebrate a traditional Communion Service for the Feast of Pentecost with the option of anointing with oil as a sign of personal renewal in the power of the Spirit, and the lighting of candles from the Easter candle, marking the end of Easter-tide. Liz Rawlings will be visiting us, to preach and preside.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 17th May 2026
Morning Communion at 10am and Evening Worship at 6pm
Join us this Sunday as we begin to look at the book of Acts. It is the Sunday after Ascension Day so we will be looking at Christ ascending the heaven with the theme ‘waiting and promise’. The Bible readings are Acts 1:1-11 and Luke 24:44-53. Rev Angela Tarry will be joining us in the morning to preach and preside, and there will also be a children's group during the service.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 10th May 2026
All Together Worship at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm
Join us this Sunday as we continue to look at John’s Epistles. These small letters were written to the early church as an encouragement to hold fast in their faith. In the morning service, we will be exploring the theme of Living in Love from John’s teachings. Our good friend Rev David Newman will be joining us at the evening service to preach and lead communion.

All Together Agape at 10am, led by our children and young people
Please join us for our bimonthly Children and Young People Led All Together Agape as we explore Walking in the Light in John's Epistles - which follows on well from the last service they led on Jesus the Light of the World. We'll be celebrating their musical talents and acting skills and sharing our Agape meal, where all are welcome to eat and drink together.
Evensong at 6pm
Today we start our look at some of the shorter letters in the bible. Our passages are 1 John 1:11-2:11 and John 8:12 our focus is walking in the light.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 26th April 2026
Baptism Service, with Advocate at 10am
This Sunday we will have the baptism pool set up! Please be praying for Frankie and Amanda as they are being baptised/reaffirming their baptism and come along to celebrate with them. We will also be concluding our series on John’s gospel with the story of Peter’s restoration and calling and hearing an update on the work of BACA. The children’s group will be meeting at the beginning of the service, joining us later for the baptism.
Evening Communion, with Advocate at 6pm
Everyone is welcome to our Evening Communion service. The readings are 1 Peter 2:19-25 and John 21:15-25, bringing our series on John’s gospel to a close. There will also be an advocate update on behalf of BACA.

Morning Communion – Sunday 19th April at 10am
As we near the end of our journey through John’s gospel, join us as we hear about the ‘Breakfast on the Beach’ and think about our response to the risen Jesus. The readings are 1 Peter 1:13-23 and John 21:1-14 and there is a children’s group during the service. Please stay on for the Tanzania Talk and Lunch afterwards if you can (see below)
Worship with a Classical Flavour – Sunday 19th April at 6pm
Please invite family and friends to join us for a service of Evening Worship followed by refreshments and a short concert of music featuring the Concorde choir. This is their first visit to St Mary’s so please come and give them a good welcome! Readings as above.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 5th & 12th April 2026
Easter Sunday Sunrise in the Woods – Sunday 5th April at 6am
Join us at 6am for sunrise around the fire pit, for a short, reflective first service of Easter. There will be hot drinks and pastries afterwards.
Easter Sunday All Together Communion – Sunday 5th April at 10am
We will celebrate the risen Christ in all His glory with joyful hymns, thankful prayer and grateful communion. After the service the young at heart can head over to the woodland to see if they can spot anything edible and egg shaped among the trees!
Easter Sunday Evening Worship with Songs of Praise – Sunday 5th April at 6pm
This service will have a Songs of Praise theme, enhanced by well-known Easter hymns and we will be looking at the story of the empty tomb according to John.
All Together Worship – Sunday 12th April at 10am
We continue our journey together through John’s gospel, this week hearing of the resurrection appearance of Jesus to the disciples and to Thomas. The readings are 1 Peter 1:3-9 and John 20:19-31
Evening Communion – Sunday 12th April at 6pm
Please join us for an evening communion service for Eastertide, thinking about the disciples’ responses to seeing the risen Christ.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 29th March 2026
Palm Sunday Communion with Children’s Group – Sunday 29th March at 10am
We begin by celebrating together Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem when the crowds greeted him with shouts of ‘Hosanna’ and move into hearing the Passion reading, anticipating the events of Holy week when the crowds cry turned to ‘Crucify him!’ There will be a children’s group during the service and we will share in communion together.
The readings are John 12:12-19, Phil 2:5-11 and, for the Passion reading, John chapters 18 and 19.
Palm Sunday Evening Worship – Sunday 29th March at 6pm
In the evening we will again hear the Palms reading followed by the Passion reading. There will be a time of silent reflection and prayer in preparation for the start of Holy Week. Readings as above.

Morning Worship with Advocate at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm
There are plenty of reasons to join us today! All are welcome at both our morning worship and our evening communion, where again we will explore John's gospel and Jesus' power to bring life out of death. You will hear from this month’s charity advocate and see where, and who, our tithing helps in March. After the morning service, you are welcome to stay for our APCM (please see the notice below).

All Together Worship at 10am
Please invite family and friends to come along as we celebrate Mothering Sunday, giving thanks for God’s mothering love as well as for all those who offer mothering love and care to others. IF YOU ARE ABLE, PLEASE BRING A PHOTO OR AN ITEM TO REPRESENT SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN A GOOD MOTHER-FIGURE IN YOUR LIFE.
We will be continuing our journey through John’s gospel and the reading is John 10:1-16, Jesus the Good Shepherd.
Evening Communion at 6pm
As we gather in the evening to share in communion, we will be acknowledging the mixed emotions people may experience on Mothering Sunday – thankfulness and joy for the gift of mothering as well as the sadness and pain of bereavement, broken relationships or relationships that never could be.
We will be continuing our journey through John’s Gospel, thinking this week about Jesus the Good Shepherd. The readings are Ezekiel 34:11-16 and John 10:1-21.
