St Mary's Notices - 14th and 21st July 2024

On Sunday 14th July, please join us for our All Together Worship at 10am and Holy Communion at 6pm.
Over the summer we are going to be learning about some of the Minor Prophets of the Old Testament and thinking about their message then and now. We begin this week with Micah. The readings are Micah 6:1-8 and Luke 10:25-37

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 7th July 2024

Please join us for our All Together Agape service with a Baptism at 10am, and Evensong at 6pm.
Diving into Baptism: Water is a both a sign of death and new life in the bible. As our two candidates are baptised we'll take a look at some of the water imagery in the bible and how it relates to our covenant relationship with God. The readings are Genesis 6:13-18 and Matthew 3:1-6, 13-17. We hope to see you there!

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 30th June 2024

Please join us for our services of Morning Communion at 10am and Evening Worship at 6pm. This Sunday is the final week in our Frontline series, thinking about the way in which grow together through our gathered worship, equipping us for life through the week. The readings are Hebrews 10:19-25 and Romans 12:1-13
and there will be a children’s group during the 10am service.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 23rd June 2024

Please join us for Morning Worship at 10am.This Sunday morning we will welcome Ben Ray, who we support through CMS. As well as updating us on their news, Ben will be bringing us a message about meeting people on the edges and how we all have a part to play in God's mission. The readings are Colossians 3:12-17 and Mark 4:35-5:20. There will be a children’s group during the service.

It s Fathers Day, and we'll be giving thanks for God our heavenly Father, and thinking about the difference it makes to our frontline living, to know ourselves to be children of God. The readings are 1 John 3:1-3 and Matthew 6:5-14. There will be a children's group during the service.

St Mary's Notices - 2nd and 9th June 2024

Please join us on Sunday 2nd June for our All-Together Agape service at 10am and Evensong at 6pm.This week we will be starting a new sermon series : ‘Frontline Sundays’ thinking about how we live out our faith in our everyday lives. The readings are 1 Peter 1:1-9 and Matthew 5:13-16 and we’ll be thinking about how small things can make a big difference – can you think of some examples to share? Over the next few weeks we’ll be hearing from some people about their ‘frontlines’. If you’d be prepared to tell us about yours, please have a word with Adele.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 26th May 2024

Please join us for Morning Worship at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm, both with Advocate. This week marks the start of ‘Ordinary Time.’ After the celebration of Easter and Pentecost, this is the time for getting
on with the ordinary things of life we have been commissioned and empowered to do in an extraordinary way! This starts with ‘Trinity Sunday’ – an affirmation of what lies at the heart of our faith and the good news we are called to share. The readings are Isaiah 6:1-8 and John 3:1-17. There will be a children’s group during the 10am service and Andy Griffiths will be giving an update on the work of the Laura centre at both services (Please see prayer pointers in the Notices - link below).

Worship With a Classical Flavour - Sunday 19th May 6pm

“Music to Celebrate God’s Creation.” You are warmly invited to come to this homegrown concert performed by The Eve Trio and members and friends of St Mary’s. Join us for a short service of Evening Worship starting at 6pm, followed by refreshments and a wonderful half hour concert due to finish at 7.30pm. Admission is free and there will be a voluntary collection taken during the service. We hope to see you there!

Worship with a Classical Flavour - Sunday 19th May

At 6pm on Sunday 19th May, please invite family and friends to join us for a service of Worship with a Classical Flavour. This should be a lovely celebration featuring members and friends of St Mary’s.

Celebrate God’s Creation’.

St Mary's Notices - 19th May 2024

Please join us for Morning Communion at 10am on Sunday 19th May. Everyone is very welcome to join us as we celebrate Pentecost in our beautifully decorated church, celebrating God’s creation as part of the EcoFair (Please see the notice below about the Eco Fair - we would love for you to join us!). The readings are Acts 2:1-21 and Psalm 104 and there will be a children’s group during the 10am service.

Eco Fair – Saturday 18th May, 10am-4pm at St Mary’s

This will be an ‘Open Church’ event offering information and activities related to care for our world. The church will be decorated with a rainbow theme, and we hope to have refreshments, crafts, a woodland trail, and community run stalls.

HELP NEEDED! We still need crafters to help with making flowers in all the colours of the rainbow, all shapes and sizes, plus stars in yellow and white for the eco weekend click here for knitting patterns. Please also let us know if you are able to donate flowers from your garden!

There will be some community run stalls with an Eco theme – if you know anyone who might like to have a stall, please email admin@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk Finally, we need some volunteers to help run the refreshments throughout the day. If you are available and would like to help serve on the rota for 1, 2 or all 6 hours!! please contact admin@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk.

St Mary's Eco Fair - THIS SATURDAY 18th May 12pm-4pm

Everyone is invited to join us for fun-filled activities for all the family at our 'Eco-Fair'. Activities will include Eco-Stalls, a Woodland Trail and Indoor crafts (suitable for children and adults). The church itself will be beautifully decorated with a rainbow theme, and refreshments will be served.

All ages are welcome and it is guaranteed to be an enjoyable day! Please spread the word and think who you can invite to come along.

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help - we really appreciate it. We hope to see you there!
