St Mary's Notices

Each week in Lent we will focus prayer on a particular area of our parish by walking or using maps asking God to show the needs and blessings for that area. Week beginning 21st March will be the streets along Nanpantan Road and a bit further afield.

A challenge is issued to fast from negative behaviours and replace them with positive action for good this Lent. God is always there to help focus on particular personal challenges during this time.

Ash Wednesday will be marked with communion at 7.30pm on Wednesday 17th February on Zoom. have paper and pen ready in place of 'ashing'. Click on the link for Zoom details.

A service fully suitable for families with craft and activities to engage all! Everyone welcome

Although the past year has been difficult for all of us, for some very difficult, we can remember what Jesus said: “In the world, you will have trouble, but cheer up! I have overcome the world!” A positive thought to hold onto as we prepare for the week ahead.

We are encouraged to review how we are continuing to keep connected with one another and with God in our difficult times. As we approach Lent maybe we could all develop some new and improved habits...

In these hard times let us truly believe that God knows and understands the difficulties of life and walks with us giving us "strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow" ( Great is thy Faithfulness)

THANK YOU!!! We exceeded the challenge target .... so lets carry onwards to 300 bags as this charity needs our help to support the hungry and homeless especially now!

The period of Epiphany celebrates how God reveals his glory through Jesus and we are encouraged to watch for small ‘glimpses of glory’ in our lives despite bleak times - the vaccine is being rolled out and there are many signs of love and care in our community.

Let us all know God is always with us, especially as these difficult times continue and we are physically separated from family and friends. Let us try to keep each other going with support at a distance using the internet, phone or other means such as letter writing.
