St Mary's Notices

We are pleased to say that we will be returning to Home Farm again this year for our Harvest service! The service in the barn will be followed by an optional trail through the walled garden at Nanpantan Hall, and up to St Mary’s where there will be tea & cake for everyone! Please see the notices for full details. We hope you can join us!

Please join us for our 10am service to meet and welcome our visitors from Trichy diocese, who will be worshipping with us. There will be a children’s activity making a collage ready for our Harvest service. Please bring pictures of things you enjoy in creation as well as pictures that show how it is being damaged to add to the artwork.

With Harvest time fast approaching, we are looking for volunteers to help with refreshments and to chat with residents at the services we hold in sheltered housing. Please see the newsletter for the dates and times and email Adele if you would like to help. Thank you.

Chris and Marie have kindly welcomed us to return to Home Farm for another ‘Harvest in the Barn’ on Sunday October 9th. We would be grateful for volunteers to help plan and deliver this service – whether leading up front, helping to decorate the barn, or welcoming and facilitating the activities. A planning meeting will be held sometime in the next couple of weeks. Please let Adele know if you would like to be part of this.

We hope that as many of our St Mary’s family as possible will come to the 10am Communion service, to welcome visitors from Trichy (assuming all their travel plans work out this time). After the service there will be a Bring and Share lunch with our visitors for which offers of food would be gratefully received.

Join us at St Mary's for Morning Worship with Communion at 10am. Please note that there is no evening service at St Mary’s this week. Instead, we hope you can come to support some of our young people at their Confirmation Service at Holy Trinity church, Barrow-on Soar, at 4pm.

Prayer Pointers:
• Please give thanks for a successful visit to New Wine and pray that they will find a suitable venue for next year.
• The development and building of the new version of the hovercraft: Please pray that general funds will be realised to continue this and other work (thank you St. Mary’s).
• The trustees and staff in the UK, the Netherlands and Madagascar: Pray that the changes and integration of accounting systems proceed well and a new Country Director in Madagascar be found.
• Give thanks for the Medical Safaris, the rebuilding of the SALFA health post at Ambaladara, and pray for a fruitful project around Maevetenana using our hovercraft to reach remote villages and fully understand the situation in the locality.

Please note that due to Jo being on annual leave next week, these notices cover the next 2 weeks, so there are a lot of notices!

Join us for our services in the building for our All Age Morning Worship at 10am and Holy Communion at 6pm.

We are expanding the idea of Worship with a Classical Flavour, to become Worship with a Creative Flavour, giving the opportunity to enrich our worship with arts other than classical music. This will be a short evening service followed by refreshments and the option of staying on to explore a written response. Please encourage friends to come along.

- give thanks that last year's Bishop's appeal which helped to buy both an ambulance and a minibus.
- please pray that Bishop Chandrasekaran would be able to visit Leicester pre-Lambeth Conference.
- give thanks for the 75th Anniversary of the Church of South India and the celebration service to be held in Leicester in September
- pray for Rev Eliazar and his family, as they settle into life at St Mary's Pudukkottai, and for the first priest-in-training from the village, Sam Venith

- give thanks for the recent visit led by Michael Broadley, where many church plants were visited and multiple baptisms performed.
- give thanks for the vaccine rollout in Kiteto this year.
