Starting Rite – NEW COURSE begins Wednesday 20th September at 10am!!

As many of you know, Starting Rite is a ‘course’ of 5 sessions which take place over 4 – 5 weeks. Each session is designed for new mums (or second / third / fourth time-arounders!) to spend one to one time with their babies doing multisensory activities in a calm and friendly setting. It’s a great way to get out of the house, compare experiences with a small group of other mums and enjoy a cup of tea. Our babies are typically 3 – 12 months but newborns are also very welcome. And the course is free! We begin again on 20th September, so if you or anyone you know would like to join us, please do get in touch with wendy@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk or look at our website www.stmaryincharnwood.org.uk

They will be leading a service of Choral Evensong at 4pm, followed by an interlude for refreshments, and then a short concert of organ music presented by cathedral organist, David Cowen, and his son James. Please note that there will be no 6pm service this Sunday.

Parish Pilgrims Walk – Thursday 14th September 9:45am

Starting from the Crown Inn, Debdale Hill, Old Dalby, LE14 3LF. A 4-mile walk via Old Dalby Hall Estate, crossing Meadows and entering Old Dalby Wood making about a ½ mile gradual ascent of
about 175 feet. A quiet lane (part of 'Midshires Way') takes us to the small village of Grimston, returning across fields, then skirting the same wood, we arrive to a point where views of Old Dalby and a vista beyond open up, which can be appreciated for most of the remainder of the Walk along farm track and then footpaths. I believe there are 4 stiles. Please email the parish office admin@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk if you are intending to walk and/or lunch afterwards.
