St Mary's Notices - 22nd October 2023
Please join us for Morning Worship at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm – both with an Advocate slot.
We are continuing our St Mary's Vision series. Last week the focus was 'UP', and our relationship with God. This week we are looking at what it means to be a people that are called to go 'OUT'. The readings are Isaiah 45:1-7 and Matthew 28:16-20. Chris and Keith will be joining us from the SoAR Project to give us their latest updates.

Tower Group Meeting – Friday 20th October at 8pm
The next meeting will be this Friday, the 20th October at the Forest Gate (i.e. the Toby Carvery on Forest Road). We start between 8pm and 8:15pm. All men are welcome to join us over a drink and friendly discussions about work, St Mary’s, local issues, and people’s interests. Streets of Light Project
Why not shine some light, love, and hope during the week of Halloween by getting involved in the
national Streets of Light project? The project is simple and easy to do. Simply sign up via the Streets of Light website by the 16th of October, make your window displays and put them up in your windows from the 30th of October to the 5th of November 2023. There is also a Streets of Light Craft Event on Saturday 14th October, 9:30-11:30am at The Arc Community Hub, Knox Rd, LE11 2UP. It will be great to see loads of LCP churches getting involved in this amazing project as we shine for Jesus during these dark nights.

St Mary's Notices - 15th October 2023
Please join us for Morning Communion at 10am and Evening Worship at 6pm this Sunday 15th October. This week we are beginning a new sermon series considering what it means to be church using the image of a Toblerone! Please come along to find out more. The readings are Philippians 4:1-9 and Matthew 22:1-14 and we will be thinking about the church as a called community – called to a loving and life-transforming relationship with God, expressed primarily in our worship. Campfire Compline – Saturday 14th October at 4:45pm
Returning monthly on the second Saturday of the month from 4:45pm to 5:15pm. Join us for a short reflective service in the woodland around the firepit.

Mossy Church – Saturday 14th October at 3pm
Mossy Church is held in the church woodland on the 2nd Saturday of each month. It gives all ages the opportunity to consider God's creation through activities, exploration and creativity. This week at Mossy Church we will be thinking about hiding places, then exploring where bugs hide. Obviously followed by hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows!

Monday Morning Men’s Meeting – Monday 9th October, 10:30am at Emmanuel Church
We start our winter series of meetings at Emmanuel Church on the 9th October. The meeting starts with coffee at 10:30am and ladies are invited to this and to lunch afterwards in the Church Centre. If you have not already booked lunch, please do so as soon as possible w/c 2 October.

Eve Piano Trio Concert – Friday 6th October, 7:30pm at St Mary’s
If you feel like enjoying a relaxing and uplifting Autumn evening with music and refreshments in October, the EVE Piano Trio will be presenting a concert on Friday October 6th at St Mary’s, playing classical favourites from Beethoven’s majestic Archduke Trio and Schubert’s beautiful Trio Op 100 alongside a variety of favourite pieces, from Faure and Borodin to Simon and Garfunkle, with a few surprises as well - something for everyone! The concert starts at 7:30pm, and tickets are free, but as space is limited, please book in advance at EveTrio@hotmail.com.

St Mary’s Ladies Meeting – Tuesday 3rd October at 10:30am
The next St Mary’s Ladies Meeting will take place on Tuesday, 3rd October. We will meet at a member’s home at 10:30am. We will continue to make donations to the Food Bank with UHT Milk, Deodorant (men and women’s), Microwave Rice, Pot Noodles, Shampoo/Shower Gel and Toothbrushes on the current most needed list, but any donations are always much appreciated.
