St Mary's Notices

Come and join us around the firepit in the woodland of St Mary’s for a song, a short bible reading, and activities that make the most of our woodland setting. As usual there will be lots of marshmallows and
hot chocolate!

This has been such a great success that we are once more taking our carol singing out into the streets! We will follow the same route as last year and you are very welcome to either complete the full route or a small section of it. Refreshments will be on sale at the Scout Hut at the end. Please invite friends and neighbours to join you!

Please invite friends and family to join us for this interactive service hosted at church! The service is suitable for all ages. Bring your own orange which we will be making into Christingles during the service. This service is the 2nd Sunday of Advent. If you'd like to be in our Christmas choir, just a reminder that the third rehearsal will take place straight after the Christingle service, from 11:15am-12pm.

We have our Christingle service at 10am this Sunday (bring your own orange!) and our Carols on the Move event from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, where we will be singing carols around our parish. There will be no 6pm service in the building this week.

Please join us for our Advent Carol service. We will sing traditional carols and listen to readings as we remember those who pointed the way to Jesus and long for his coming again.

Please join us at St Mary's for our All Together Communion and Agape Meal on Sunday 3rd December at 10am. This is for all ages. During the service, we enjoy a simple sharing of bread and grape juice as a sign of our fellowship together and in thanks for God's goodness. We hope that you can join us.

Please come along and bring friends and family to join in our crafts for people of all ages. We'll be making trees of all kinds to decorate the church and to give as gifts. There will also be music in the church, a trail through the woodland (weather permitting) and tea and cake to enjoy.

As Advent begins, join us for our Advent Carols service this Sunday at 6pm.

Please join us for worship as we celebrate the festival of Christ the King – the culmination of the church year before Advent begins. There will be a children’s group during the 10am service. At both services we will hear an update from the Child Contact Centre, as well as a Christmas Appeal for Generous Giving from our treasurer. After the service, at 11.15am, there is the 1st choir rehearsal for the choir who will sing at 'Carols by Candlelight' on 17th December. Please see the notice on this page about the choir for more details.

Would you like to join our choir and sing at Carols by Candlelight on Sunday December 17th (6pm)? We’ll be meeting at 11:15am until 12 noon on Sundays November 26th, December 3rd, December 10th, and December 17th (after Morning Service) to prepare, in the church. Don’t worry if you can’t make each week – just come whenever you can - everyone is welcome of all ages! If you’d like to be part of this, please contact
admin@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk or just come along – the more, the merrier!

To conclude our Dedication and Vision Sunday there will be a Worship with a Classical Flavour ‘Songs of Praise’ celebrating our church-life past, present, and future. The service will be followed by refreshments and a short concert by Jeremy Kimber.

Come and join us for our Dedication & Vision service this Sunday at 10am, followed by a Bring & Share lunch at 12pm. Our 6pm service this week is "Worship with a Classical Flavour" featuring a short concert of Brahms by the piano and cello.
