The next St Mary’s Ladies Meeting will take place next Tuesday at a member’s home. The theme for the meeting will be ‘Spring’ and we will continue to support the Food Bank - any donations will be gratefully accepted. We would love you to join us at our All Together Agape service at 10am and our Evensong service at 6pm. This Sunday we are exploring the theme “Ungentle Jesus”, and the readings are 1 Corinthians 1:18-25, and John 2:13-22. This will be the 5th Agape Meal we have shared on a Sunday morning as an alternative to communion and we are interested to know what people think. We will be asking people at the 10am and are interested to hear from anyone who wants to share their thoughts – please email admin@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk.

The Lent course started this Wednesday, the 21st of Feb but it’s not too late to join – please come
along any Wednesday evening you are able to. This year we are studying the Gospel of Mark:
“Living the Way of Jesus in the World" If you would like to join in, please email Adele revadele@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk.

This group warmly invites anyone who would welcome some company whether they live alone or not. It is a lovely opportunity to meet together to share lunch and chat. The meetings take place on the last Wednesday of each month at the Toby Carvery, Forest Road at 12 noon. Please contact admin@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk if you would like any more details. Many apologies to everyone for not being able to meet last Sunday. To make up for it, please can we meet this Sunday (25th) if convenient – same time as usual, 11:15am-12pm. Everyone welcome, as always!

Please join us this Sunday for Morning Worship at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm [both with Advocate]. This week the readings are Genesis 17:1-7,15-16 and Mark 8:31-38 and we’ll be thinking about Jesus’ challenging call to his followers to ‘take up your cross’. There will be a children’s group during the 10am service and an advocate slot on behalf of Hope Against Cancer at both services (see below for prayer pointers). Everyone welcome!

At Mossy Church this month we are thinking about being blind, hearing the story of a blind beggar and making paint brushes to use with mud paint. Followed by marshmallows and hot chocolate!

The next meeting will be at the Forest Gate (i.e. the Toby Carvery on Forest Road) on Friday 23rd February. We start between 8pm and 8:15pm. All men are welcome to join us over a drink and friendly discussions about work, St. Mary’s, local issues, and people’s interests.

Our next choir meeting will be this Sunday 18th February - everyone of ALL ages welcome! Don’t worry if you can’t make each month – just come whenever you can. Hope to see you there!

We would love you to join us for one of our services this Sunday 18th February. All-Together Communion will be at 10am and Evening Worship will take place at 6pm. Liz Rawlings will be leading us in thinking about new beginnings with God. There will be a children’s group at the 10am service. This week’s readings are Genesis 9:8-17 and Mark 1:9-15.

All are welcome to join us for this traditional communion service to mark the beginning of Lent, a time of reflection, self-denial, and study over the days to Easter. There will be the opportunity to receive the sign of the cross in ashes, an ancient sign of penitence.

All are welcome to join us for a short service of communion with the option of ashing, followed by a simple but delicious soup lunch! Recognising health concerns, we will continue serving communion by intinction. Please invite friends and think if there is anyone who might welcome a lift.
