Church Finances Update
13 May 2020
Update from Ian as treasurer: First of all, thanks to all who have been generously giving during this unusual time. We are no longer receiving income from Chapter House rentals, weddings, or Sunday collections. For now, we are covering our costs from our reserves – the money we put away for rainy days like these, but I would ask you all to consider if you can give more. If you normally give cash in plate or envelope, could you consider setting up a standing order? We recognise that not everyone will be able to, but please could you give it some thought.
Safeguarding Review
30 Apr 2020
The Church of England has commissioned a thorough review of all past cases of church-related abuse and is inviting anyone who wants to make representations about their experience as victim or survivor to come forward with information or to make a disclosure to the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser or the National Safeguarding Team. Please note, the deadline for completion of the PCR 2 return has now been moved from 30 April to Friday 17 July 2020 in view of the current pandemic situation.
PCC Opportunities
31 Mar 2020
There are currently two vacancies on the PCC and one on Deanery Synod, which we would like to fill at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting on Tuesday 31 March.
If you are interested and feel called to serve the church community in either way, or simply wish to find out more about what either role entails, please talk to Katherine or Ian.
Marmalade Sales
1 Mar 2020
So far we have raised £500 for my Grandson’s school to build and decorate a school in Tanzania, £200 for Seeing Dogs, £200 for Neema Crafts and £200 for the Laura Centre. The money is now being collected for Hover Aid in Madagascar. Thank you very much for your continued support as without you this would not have been possible. Rosemary.
