Emergency Ukraine Appeal from the Diocese in Europe and USPG

10 Mar 2022

The charity USPG and the Church of England Diocese in Europe are launching an emergency appeal to get aid to people in desperate need because of the invasion of Ukraine. Funds raised by the appeal will support Christian charities and churches carrying out humanitarian work both in Ukraine and responding to the arrival of refugees in neighbouring countries. Their partners on the ground are providing food, medicine, shelter, care for children and people internally displaced in Ukraine. For refugees they are supplying care at the border and beyond, including attention to those from Africa and Asia, as well as Ukrainians who are fleeing the war. The appeal is for urgent help now but the work will go on for many months. Click below for details which includes how to donate - by clicking on 'an emergency appeal' in red in first line of information.

Pilgrim Course Wednesdays 7.30 - 9pm in the Chapter House

17 Feb 2022

All are welcome to join this group which is for people at any stage of faith wanting to explore questions or go deeper in their understanding of the Christian faith. We use the Pilgrim course material and this time will be considering the 10 commandments. Starting on the 16th February there are a further six sessions every Wednesday evening, ending with a social evening on the 30th March. As it runs through Lent, you may want to consider making this your Lent Course. Although the meetings are in-person we would be prepared to try welcoming people also on zoom if required. Please sign up via the link below or email the Parish Office admin@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk for more information.
