Christmas – Sheep!

This year our Christmas theme is sheep, and we would be very grateful for everybody to make sheep for us to decorate the church and to give as gifts to people. You can access links to various different sheep making crafts by clicking the link in the notices. Please let us know if you have a pattern we could add!

St Mary's Notices - 6th November

6 Nov 2022

Please join us for All Age Communion at 10am. We will be celebrating the life of our church here at St Mary’s past, present and future. Please bring a shoebox or similar sized box to the service – all will be revealed!
Our Evensong service will be at 6pm. This will be a traditional service of Evensong, with recorded music by Stanford.

Ladies who Lunch - 2nd November

The next date for Ladies Who Lunch is Wednesday November 5th at 12 noon at the Toby Carvery, Forest Road. This is an opportunity for ladies who live on their own to meet up for a meal and a chat. Ladies Group - 1st November

St Mary’s Ladies Group will meeting on Tuesday, 1st November at 10.30am in the Chapter House. We will be holding a Games morning. We agreed to continue making donations to the Food Bank and any donations will be gratefully received. Please see the newsletter for more details. If you would like to

Bereavement Service – Sunday 30th October

Please join us for our annual bereavement service at 3pm on Sunday 30th October if you would like to remember and give thanks to God for a loved one who has died. There will be an opportunity to light a candle in the service and to write the name of your loved one on a card for prayer. The service will be followed by light refreshments.

St Mary's Notices - 30th October

Please join us this Sunday at 10am for Morning Worship with Communion. This week we will be celebrating the festival of All Saints, giving thanks for those who have inspired our journey of faith. David Newman will be preaching and there is a separate activity for children. At 3pm there is a Bereavement Service. Everyone is welcome to remember and give thanks to God for loved ones who have died. At 6pm there will be a reflective service of Evening Prayer.

Tower Group Meeting – 21st October

21 Oct 2022

The next meeting will be held at the Forest Gate (the Toby Carvery on Forest Road) on Friday 21st October. We start between 8pm and 8:15 pm. All men of working age are welcome to join us over a drink and friendly discussions about work, St. Mary’s, local issues, and people’s interests. Please join us this Sunday for our service of Morning Worship with an Advocate Slot at 10am. This week is Bible Sunday, so please bring your favourite bible with you to church! There will be activities for children
during the service and we also look forward to hearing an update from The SOaR Project. In the evening there will be a service of Holy Communion with an Advocate Slot at 6pm.

Worship with a Classical Flavour - 16th October

16 Oct 2022

Rev Liz Rawlings will be leading this week’s Worship with a Creative Flavour at 6pm. There will be a short
service of Evening Prayer followed by refreshments. After this, Liz has kindly offered to lead a creative exploration of some ‘Habits of Prayer’ for everyday life. An evening not to be missed!
