St Mary's Notices - 17th March 2024

Everyone is welcome to our service of Morning Communion at 10am this Sunday 17th March. David Newman will be joining us and, in line with our Lent study, reflecting on the gospel of Mark. The readings are Isaiah 43:1-7 and Mark 10:32-34 and there will be a children’s group during the service.

Lent Course Session 4 – Wednesday 13th March at 7:30pm

Everyone is welcome to still join, as we continue our 6 week study of the Gospel of Mark: “Living the Way of Jesus in the World".

Monday Morning Group – Monday 11th March, 10:15am at Emmanuel

11 Mar 2024

Our next meeting on the 11th of March is at Emmanuel Church and will be an opportunity to listen to music. We start with coffee from 10:15am and everyone is welcome. We have lunch afterwards at 12:15pm in the Church Centre and already have some reservations from those attending our last meeting. Anyone else who would like to stay for lunch, please let the parish office know by Monday the 4th of March: admin@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk. The menu is cottage pie and dessert, with vegetarian and vegan options available.

St Mary’s Singing - Sunday 10th March at 11:15am

We meet on the 2nd Sunday of the month throughout the year, from 11:15am to 12 noon, after the morning service. Everyone of ALL ages welcome! Don’t worry if you can’t make each week – just come whenever you can.

Please invite family and friends to join us as at 6pm as we celebrate Mothering Sunday, giving thanks for those who offer mothering love and care to others. At 10am we will be gathering for an All Together interactive service, and at 6pm a more reflective communion service, recognising the complexity of emotions this day brings for some.

This Sunday: Mothering Sunday services – Sunday 10th March

Please invite family and friends to join us as we celebrate Mothering Sunday, giving thanks for those who offer mothering love and care to others. At 10am we will enjoy an interactive service for all ages together, celebrating mothering care. There will be a visitor from BACA, a charity in Loughborough supporting child refugees. At 6pm we welcome you to join us for a more reflective communion service, celebrating mothering and acknowledging the mixed emotions felt by some on this day. There will be a presentation about the work of BACA at this service too. We look forward to seeing you there.

St Mary’s Ladies Meeting – Tuesday 5th March at 10:30am

The next St Mary’s Ladies Meeting will take place next Tuesday at a member’s home. The theme for the meeting will be ‘Spring’ and we will continue to support the Food Bank - any donations will be gratefully accepted. We would love you to join us at our All Together Agape service at 10am and our Evensong service at 6pm. This Sunday we are exploring the theme “Ungentle Jesus”, and the readings are 1 Corinthians 1:18-25, and John 2:13-22. This will be the 5th Agape Meal we have shared on a Sunday morning as an alternative to communion and we are interested to know what people think. We will be asking people at the 10am and are interested to hear from anyone who wants to share their thoughts – please email admin@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk.
