Prayer Walk for Lent

Each week in Lent we will focus prayer on a particular area of our parish by walking or using maps asking God to show you the needs and blessings for that area. Week beginning 21st February will start with Valley Road and the roads off from it.

Adele's letter 21st February - First Sunday of Lent

A challenge is issued to fast from negative behaviours and replace them with positive action for good this Lent. God is always there to help focus on particular personal challenges during this time.

Ash Wednesday Service

Ash Wednesday will be marked with communion at 7.30pm on Wednesday 17th February on Zoom. have paper and pen ready in place of 'ashing'. Click on the link for Zoom details.

Although the past year has been difficult for all of us, for some very difficult, we can remember what Jesus said: “In the world, you will have trouble, but cheer up! I have overcome the world!” A positive thought to hold onto as we prepare for the week ahead.

Church Electoral Roll Revision

If you would like to add your name to the Electoral Roll at St Marys please complete the form available below. To be eligible you need to be 16 years plus, baptised and satisfy one of the 3 conditions that are on the form.

Pilgrim Course

In these hard times let us truly believe that God knows and understands the difficulties of life and walks with us giving us "strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow" ( Great is thy Faithfulness)

Adele's letter 24th January - Third Sunday of Epiphany

The period of Epiphany celebrates how God reveals his glory through Jesus and we are encouraged to watch for small ‘glimpses of glory’ in our lives despite bleak times - the vaccine is being rolled out and there are many signs of love and care in our community.

Adele's letter 17th January - Second Sunday of Epiphany

Let us all know God is always with us, especially as these difficult times continue and we are physically separated from family and friends. Let us try to keep each other going with support at a distance using the internet, phone or other means such as letter writing.
'We are pilgrims on a journey, fellow travellers on the road; we are here to help each other walk the mile and bear the load.’

Adele's letter 10th January - Baptism of Christ

As we enter the new lockdown let us know for ourselves and others that nothing is impossible without God. Let us shine a light of joy and hope to others in these difficult times.

Adele's letter 3rd January - 2nd Sunday of Christmas

As we start a new year it is traditional to renew our commitment to following Christ.
" Let this covenant now made on earth be fulfilled in heaven. Amen"

Thank you for Christmas Appeal for Project 5000

Thanks for supporting Project 5000 by buying socks, gloves and shower gel and donating food and money to enable 25 gift bags to be filled for the Christmas Day take-out meals

Nativity in the Woods - every day including Christmas Eve 10:00-14:00

Take a walk through the woods at St Marys and uncover more of the nativity story. Around the woods are silhouettes of parts of the story with opportunities to hear more by scanning a QR code and watching or listening to part of the story before moving onto the next one.

As we come to grips with ever changing plans to be with loved ones in some way let us hold onto the central message of Christmas that Christ is born and God is with us.
