Memorial of Remembrance – 30th to 31st October
At the time of All Saints (1stNovember) it is traditional to remember those who have died. Since the Covid pandemic began we have had limited opportunity to say goodbye to our loved ones due to restrictions, so we have decided that this year, we will hold a weekend of events on the 30th and 31stOctober, with a particular focus on those we have lost to covid. One of the events planned is a temporary Memorial of Remembrance – hearts, to which the names of those who have died can be added and hung along the hedge on the church lawn (inspired by the wall of hearts memorial at the Embankment in London). It will remain in situ for two weeks, before being disposed of prayerfully. St Mary’s church grounds will be open from 10am on Saturday 30th until late evening, and from normal service time on Sunday 31st until 5pm. Materials will be left outside to enable participation at any time over the two days.

The vision comprises three broad themes:
We believe in the transforming love of God helping people become and grow as followers of Jesus Christ and in sharing God’s love with our local community. St Mary’s has a warm and friendly atmosphere and a welcoming congregation. We would love to see you at any of our services or events.
We have a ministry team at St Mary’s led by our Vicar Adele, and comprising an Ordinand in training, Readers, and many others who volunteer and generously support the mission and ministry of the church.
St Mary’s Nanpantan - seeking to encounter God, grow in faith and serve our community.
See here for a brief history of the Church.
Giving to St Mary's
One way that we worship is to give money regularly to God's work at St Mary’s.
Your generous giving accounts for most of our income and makes everything we do at St Mary’s possible.
Giving to Others
St Mary’s supports mission partners in the UK and overseas.
We believe that our first 10% (the tithe) is offered to God’s mission and so, as well as prayer, we support these partners with the tithe from our voluntary income.
If you have a safeguarding concern, then please contact our local Safeguarding Co-ordinator, Mary Harries at email@example.com or the Parish Priest, Rev Adele Adshead revAdele@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk.
If you wish to speak to the Diocesan Safeguarding Team, or to someone outside the church, their contact details are available on the diocesan website
