Ride and Stride - Saturday 10th September - Advance Notice to book in your diary!
The Leicestershire Historic Churches Trust grant aids historic churches and chapels of all Christian denominations for repairs, restoration, and some community facilities. The Trust’s main fund raising is through the annual sponsored Ride+Stride event. Walkers and cyclists, for example, seek sponsors for the number of churches or chapels they visit on the event day. St. Mary’s will be open for Ride+Stride from 10am until 5pm. The money raised by each participant will be shared equally between St. Mary’s and the Trust. If you would like to take part, please contact the Parish Admin office email@example.com, to be given the necessary details for visiting churches while being sponsored.
Emergency Ukraine Appeal from the Diocese in Europe and USPG
The charity USPG and the Church of England Diocese in Europe are launching an emergency appeal to get aid to people in desperate need because of the invasion of Ukraine. Funds raised by the appeal will support Christian charities and churches carrying out humanitarian work both in Ukraine and responding to the arrival of refugees in neighbouring countries. Their partners on the ground are providing food, medicine, shelter, care for children and people internally displaced in Ukraine. For refugees they are supplying care at the border and beyond, including attention to those from Africa and Asia, as well as Ukrainians who are fleeing the war. The appeal is for urgent help now but the work will go on for many months. Click below for details which includes how to donate - by clicking on 'an emergency appeal' in red in first line of information.

The vision comprises three broad themes:
We believe in the transforming love of God helping people become and grow as followers of Jesus Christ and in sharing God’s love with our local community. St Mary’s has a warm and friendly atmosphere and a welcoming congregation. We would love to see you at any of our services or events.
We have a ministry team at St Mary’s led by our Vicar Adele, and comprising an Ordinand in training, Readers, and many others who volunteer and generously support the mission and ministry of the church.
St Mary’s Nanpantan - seeking to encounter God, grow in faith and serve our community.
See here for a brief history of the Church.
Giving to St Mary's
One way that we worship is to give money regularly to God's work at St Mary’s.
Your generous giving accounts for most of our income and makes everything we do at St Mary’s possible.
Giving to Others
St Mary’s supports mission partners in the UK and overseas.
We believe that our first 10% (the tithe) is offered to God’s mission and so, as well as prayer, we support these partners with the tithe from our voluntary income.
If you have a safeguarding concern, then please contact our local Safeguarding Co-ordinator, Olivia Smith at email@example.com or the Parish Priest, Rev Adele Adshead revAdele@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk.
