This Week's Featured News and Notices
Inter Care - Advocate Slot
Inter Care sends targeted medical aid to over 100 Christian health Mission hospitals and clinics in 5 sub-Saharan African Countries providing lifesaving healthcare to where there are huge levels of poverty coupled with a severe lack of resources. Locally full and part-time staff and over 50 volunteers are based in Syston to support the work. See the link below to Inter Care's website
Please pray for:
• All those who receive the help from Inter Care, many of whom are very sick and whose families may have travelled hours on foot to get to the clinics for their healing and recovery.
• Prayers for the staff at Inter Care’s Mission partner health units, who work tirelessly to treat vulnerable patients and are coping with Covid both among staff and patients, and do not have the advantage of courses of vaccinations to the same extent as in the UK.
• The medical aid sent reaches the destinations safely.
• The volunteers in Syston, who dedicate their time to support Inter Care, doing God’s work.
• For awareness of the value and need for Inter Care’s work in Africa to grow across the UK.
• For the inspiration and further development and opportunities from UK pharmaceutical and wholesale companies.
• For help from the public, both in recycling and financial support.
Our Vision 2022
In 2022 we hope to say: ‘St Mary’s is a community of deep faith, relevant and accessible to all and that reaches beyond its building'. Please read the flyer and if you would like to share your thoughts and prayers please do get in contact.
Are you interested in protecting the environment? You need no specific knowledge about environmental issues but all over 10 years old are welcome to join us - Zoom meetings at first . This group will initially focus on applying for eco church status and will probably then be investigating ways that both the church and individual members can lower their carbon footprint, and then decide upon the best way forward.
For more information about eco church click on the link below and please contact the parish office by email: firstname.lastname@example.org

The vision comprises three broad themes:
We believe in the transforming love of God helping people become and grow as followers of Jesus Christ and in sharing God’s love with our local community. St Mary’s has a warm and friendly atmosphere and a welcoming congregation. We would love to see you at any of our services or events.
We have a ministry team at St Mary’s led by our Vicar Adele, and comprising an Ordinand in training, Readers, and many others who volunteer and generously support the mission and ministry of the church.
St Mary’s Nanpantan - seeking to encounter God, grow in faith and serve our community.
See here for a brief history of the Church.
Giving to St Mary's
One way that we worship is to give money regularly to God's work at St Mary’s.
Your generous giving accounts for most of our income and makes everything we do at St Mary’s possible.
Giving to Others
St Mary’s supports mission partners in the UK and overseas.
We believe that our first 10% (the tithe) is offered to God’s mission and so, as well as prayer, we support these partners with the tithe from our voluntary income.
If you have a safeguarding concern, then please contact our local Safeguarding Co-ordinator, Olivia Smith at email@example.com or the Parish Priest, Rev Adele Adshead revAdele@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk.
If you wish to speak to the Diocesan Safeguarding Team, or to someone outside the church, their contact details are available on the diocesan website
Please see here the Church safeguarding policy: Promoting a Safer Church
Regular Activities at St Mary's

There are of course many others contribute to the work of the church.
