Morning Communion at 10am and Advent Carols 6pm
Please join us this Sunday morning for our communion service as we enter the watching and waiting season of Advent and discover the Hope that is found in Jesus.

Please invite friends and family to our evening service, as we mark the start of Advent with a service of readings, reflection and music introducing our Advent themes of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 23rd November 2025

Morning Worship at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm
In the church calendar, this Sunday remembers Christ the King. Join us for the morning and evening services to discover a little more about his kingship with readings from Jeremiah 23:1-6 and Luke 23:33-43. In the evening service we will share Communion and at both services we have our advocate slot; this month, we're focusing on A Rocha.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 16th November 2025

Morning Communion at 10am
Sunday 16th is our Dedication Sunday where we will be giving thanks for the past and looking towards the future with
hope, there will be information about new activities and a finance update. We will be joined by some young people
from Ashby Youth for Christ who are staying at St Mary’s overnight Saturday and joining us for morning worship.
Please come along to meet and welcome them.
Worship with a Classical Flavour, Sunday 16th November at 6pm.
We are delighted to welcome back good friends of St Mary’s the JET trio for the last Worship with a Classical Flavour
of the Year. Join us for a short service of Evening Worship, followed by refreshments and a wonderful half hour
concert of music. Free admission, there will be a voluntary collection during the service.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 9th November 2025

Remembrance Sunday, Sunday 9th November - 10.20am Parade and service in town
PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO 10AM SERVICE AT ST MARY’S THIS WEEK. Instead we are encouraging people to support the town parade and service which will be led by Emily Sharman and Bishop Martyn at the Carillon tower in Queen’s Park. 6pm Evening Communion at St Mary’s, with Act of Remembrance at our War Memorial
In the evening, we will commemorate remembrance with a short service around St Mary’s War Memorial at 6pm, leading straight into our usual evening communion service, followed by refreshments.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 2nd November 2025

All Together Agape at 10am and Evensong at 6pm.
This Sunday, we are celebrating the festival of All Saints. You are most welcome to join us for our Intergenerational Morning Agape Service at 10am. At 6pm we will have a service of traditional Evensong. Readings are Ephesians 1:11-23 and Luke 6:20-31.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 12th October 2025

All Together Agape at 10am and Evensong at 6pm
Please join us for worship and our continued journey through the Old Testament – this week exploring the book of Judges and the story of Gideon. In the morning we will be re-telling the whole story, and in the evening readings are Psalm 112, Judges 7:1-8 and Mark 6:6b-13
We hope that you will stay after the morning service for our Minster Community discussion, which will be held after refreshments at around 11.30am.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 5th October 2025

Harvest in the Barn, Home Farm Nanpantan, at 10am
Please invite friends and family to our annual Harvest Festival service at Home Farm, for worship in the barn with activities for all ages, followed by an optional trail through the walled garden at Nanpantan Hall and up to St Mary's where there will be tea & cake for everyone! Parking is available at Home Farm. Please bring your own chair and a battery-operated camping light if you have one and be sure to wrap up warm. Many thanks to Marie for welcoming us to Home Farm and preparing a barn for us to use.
There will be the opportunity at both services on Sunday 5th to present donations of non-perishable food which will be given to Project 5000. Their stocks are low and they would be grateful for donations of long-life milk, cereal, pasta, rice, tinned meat and fish, soup and pot noodles. A collection will also be taken for the Tearfund Harvest Appeal, or you can donate using this link: https://www.tearfund.org/campaigns/harvest-appeal

Harvest Communion at 6pm
Join us at the church in the evening for a harvest themed communion service, where we will be continuing our sermon series leading us through the Old Testament with the story of Ruth. Donations to Project 5000 and Tearfund would be welcomed as detailed above.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 28th September 2025

Morning Worship at 10am and Evening Communion at 6pm
Our journey through the Old Testament brings us this week to the story of Moses. The readings are Exodus 3:1-14 and John 3:1-8 and David Newman will be joining us to preach, please come along to welcome him. There will be a children’s group in the morning and an update from STEPS, one of our tithe charities, at both services.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 21st September 2025

Morning Communion at 10am and Evening Worship at 6pm
As we continue our journey through the Old Testament, we come to the story of Abraham. Readings are Genesis 12:1-9 and John 8:31-40 and we will be thinking about what it means to be ‘Children of Abraham’. (Please note that there is no Worship with a Classical Flavour this month as we have been unable to book a musician)

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 14th September 2025

Come and join us for our All Together 10am service, where we are continuing our journey through the Old Testament. Last week we were looking at the Creation story and this week we'll be looking at the story of Noah, building our understanding of how everything fits together. This inclusive service is for all ages, with opportunities to participate as you feel comfortable, all are welcome.

At the Evening Communion we will also be considering the story of Noah and what it means to be ‘walk with God’. The readings are Gen 6:5-22 and Luke 8:22-25

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 7th September 2025

All Together Agape at 10am at Nanpantan Scout Hut, 212 Nanpantan Road, LE11 3YE
As the Priory Crossroads are closed for resurfacing this Sunday from 8am-5pm, we have made the decision to move our 10am service to Nanpantan Scout Hut. Thanks to the Scouts for welcoming us there.
We’re quite excited to have the opportunity to check out these brand-new facilities before they are officially open, and hope that you will join us for our service here. This Sunday we start a new series of services, taking a trip through the Old Testament, starting at the beginning with the creation – Genesis 1:1-2:4.

Evensong at 6pm - at St Mary’s as usual
The roadworks should be complete in time for you to join us at the church building as usual for our traditional Evensong service at 6pm, when, in addition to Genesis, we will consider Psalm 8 and John’s Gospel 1: 1-14.

St Mary's Notices - Sunday 31st August 2025

Morning Communion at 10am and Evening Worship at 6pm
Join us at one of our Sunday services as we move back to our regular two service pattern. This Sunday, our Morning Communion Service will conclude our Fruitfulness series by exploring how to continue a fruitful journey with Christ.
There will be a children’s group at this service.

At 6pm we will be gathering for Evening Worship, where we will consider the readings from 2 Kings 6:15-17 and Matthew 28:16-20.
