Welcome to the Parish Church of St. Mary in Charnwood, Nanpantan. We would love to meet you and welcome you to any of our services or events.
While gathered worship in the Church of England is suspended, we continue to meet as church online. Click the image below to Join our Sunday Service on YouTube.
Sunday Services at St Mary's
The church is closed at the moment because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Normally we have three services on a Sunday, two morning services, one at 09:30, one at 11:00, and an evening service at 18:00. During the school summer holidays we have a single morning service at 10:00.
The morning services may be Holy Communion, Morning Prayer or All Age - please see the church calendar.
The evening service is usually a smaller more intimate service of Holy Communion or Evening Prayer. Occasionally we host Worship with a Classical Flavour with guest musicians at the 6pm service which would be followed by a short recital or concert.
See here for directions to, and parking at, St Mary's.
St Mary's Online
While our building and wooland are closed some of our regular activities continue online.
The vision comprises three broad themes:
We believe in the transforming love of God helping people become and grow as followers of Jesus Christ and in sharing God’s love with our local community. St Mary’s has a warm and friendly atmosphere and a welcoming congregation. We would love to see you at any of our services or events.
We have a ministry team at St Mary’s led by our Vicar Adele, and comprising an Ordinand in training, Readers, and many others who volunteer and generously support the mission and ministry of the church.
St Mary’s Nanpantan - seeking to encounter God, grow in faith and serve our community.
Giving to St Mary's
One way that we worship is to give money regularly to God's work at St Mary’s.
Your generous giving accounts for most of our income and makes everything we do at St Mary’s possible.
Giving to Others
St Mary’s supports mission partners in the UK and overseas.
We believe that our first 10% (the tithe) is offered to God’s mission and so, as well as prayer, we support these partners with the tithe from our voluntary income.
