A Different Kind of Christmas! Details of Services and activities at St Mary's

See the link below for full details of our Christmas events and activities as we look forward to and celebrate Jesus, Light of the World, coming into our lives. First we have advent carols and then Christingle zoom!

Adele's letter 6th December - Second Sunday of Advent

In these troubled times, during Advent let us remember that God is not only with us but wants the best for us and is encouraging us on as we continue to put our trust in him. The candle to be lit this week is for peace.

Christmas Appeal

Please support Project 5000 by buying socks, gloves and shower gel, and making a Christmas decoration such as an angel or star as gifts for those in receipt of meals. These can be donated until 21st December in the usual way or by dropping at church when open. Financial donations can also be made via the website, with cheques or cash.

Virtual Choir

We hope to sing 'Like a Candle Flame' for the 20th December Carol service - like last time Matt Lax will edit the individual parts and assemble so we can be 'seen' singing together. Recordings need to be with Matt by 11th December so if you want to be involved contact Parish Office for more details.

Adele's letter 29th November - Advent Sunday

As Advent commences we prepare for the coming of Christ first as a baby, and then to his promise of coming again as King.
“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” Rev 3:20 NLT

THANK YOU!

Chris York the Coordinator for Project 5000 sends St Marys a message of thanks for our continuing support with non perishable food and toiletries.

Food Bank - message from Mike and Isabel

Thank you for all donations so far - keep up the good work! Project 5000 is now up and running (serving meals outside) and giving out food parcels. The Monday 'Bible Buddies' have decided to take this onboard, and we are asking for donations of non-perishable, non-alcoholic foodstuffs. If you would like to contribute, in the first instance please contact Caroline using the email link below.

Giving to St Mary's

One way that we worship is to give money regularly to God's work at St Mary’s.

Your generous giving accounts for most of our income and makes everything we do at St Mary’s possible.

Giving to Others

St Mary’s supports mission partners in the UK and overseas.

We believe that our first 10% (the tithe) is offered to God’s mission and so, as well as prayer, we support these partners with the tithe from our voluntary income.

Safeguarding

If you have a safeguarding concern, then please contact our local Safeguarding Co-ordinator, Mary Harries at safeguarding@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk or the Parish Priest, Rev Adele Adshead revAdele@stmaryincharnwood.org.uk.
